Update

The Government have updated their message from “stay at home” to “stay alert” so we are now welcoming back our boat owners from Friday 15th May. 

From Monday 18th May, the marina office will be operating 7 days per week from 9am – 5pm. Services will continue to operate with COVID-19 health and safety measures in place.

From Friday 15th May, the chandlery will be operating from 9am – 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday with a click and collect service only, for further information please see below. 

Boat sales are now operating on an appointment only basis. 


When visiting the Marina please adhere to Government guidance at all times and the procedures which are in place to facilitate a safe environment for both customers and staff.

All guidance is in addition to our standard terms and conditions. 

We’re following the latest guidance and will continue to do so, further operational changes will take place over the coming weeks and months.

The Government does not allow overnight stays in second homes or holiday accommodation so please do not stay on site overnight and vacate your boat by 9pm.

Social Distancing Operating Procedures

On The Jetties

  • Maintain a minimum 2 metre spacing on walkways and jetties, look ahead and behind to observe and acknowledge others, passing only if necessary and using finger jetties to move a safe distance away.
  • Please avoid touching any unnecessary surfaces such as jetty posts or bollards.
  • Please wear suitable, clean gloves when using jetty bollards or water taps.

On Your Boat

  • Limit time on your boat within the Marina. Government guidelines do not allow for overnight stays on your boat. Please leave the marina by 9pm.
  • Be conscious to maintain social distancing whilst on your boat or manoeuvring.
  • Do not sit or stay on your boat unnecessarily or in close proximity to others.

Toilet, Shower and Laundry Block

  • Please use onboard facilities on your boat if available.
  • Please adhere to the maximum occupancy signs displayed on entrance doors. This is 2 people in the Ladies and 2 people in the Gents at any time. Please make yourself aware of how many people are already using the facility before entering.
  • The facilities will be regularly closed for cleaning. Please DO NOT ENTER during this time.
  • Notices will be in place to indicate planned cleaning times and when cleaning is being carried out.
  • Please queue outside, being aware of social distancing.

Marina Staff
Our staff have been amazing and we are grateful to them for looking after your boats and the Marina throughout the lockdown, and continuing to do so as restrictions are eased. Please respect them with social distancing at all times.

We have already said how grateful we are to our Marina team but we are also very grateful to you for your support. Thank you for bearing with us through the ever-changing guidelines. We are looking forward to having you back at the Marina when you’re ready to visit.

At all times please follow the current Government guidance to help stop the spread of Coronavirus, respect other users of the Marina and our local community.

FAQs

Can I park at the Marina?
Yes, please use the marina car-park as normal.

Can my friends visit my boat?
No, at the moment friends and family, other than those you live with, should not be visiting you whilst you are at the Marina. Be aware of Government Guidance on public gatherings; at the moment you can meet 1 other person from outside your household if you are outdoors, whilst adhering to social distancing regulations. Public gatherings of more than 2 people from different households are prohibited.

Can I get diesel and a pump out?
Diesel and pump-outs are available. Only one boat on the service quay at any time, please call the marina to confirm the quay is free prior to moving your boat. DO NOT REFUEL OR TAKE FUEL CANS ONTO THE JETTIES

How do I buy chandlery items?
We’re operating a click and collect service. Email the chandlery on sales@roydonmarinavillage.co.uk or call 07534655702. Payment will be taken over the phone and your items will be packed ready for collection at an agreed time.

Can I view sales boats or list my boat for sale?
Boat viewings and listings are available by appointment only. Procedures are in place to facilitate safe viewings. Please contact sales@roydonmarinavillage.co.uk. 


Can we help instead?
If you cannot safely travel to perform security checks on your boat, or would rather not, we will provide checks on your boat upon request; please email marina@roydonmarinavillage.co.uk to arrange this if you have a particular concern about your boat.

If any activity cannot be undertaken safely, with social distancing measures being implemented, it should not take place. No watersports are to take place within the marina.

On 10 May, the Government changed their COVID-19 guidance from Stay Home to:

Stay Alert
We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

  • stay at home as much as possible
  • work from home if you can
  • limit contact with other people
  • keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • wash your hands regularly
  • do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms

Changes Due To COVID-19
The safety and welfare of our employees, customers and community remains our utmost priority. We have therefore implemented the following safety measures. We ask that you take the necessary precautions to help us to minimise the spread of this pandemic.

We’ve reduced staffing levels on the marina to a minimum whilst still maintaining essential services, maintenance, health & safety and security.

The hotel, Boathouse Café, chandlery and boat sales office are currently closed. Essential shop and chandlery items are available from the marina reception building.

All hotel reservations until 3 July have been cancelled, and each guest will be contacted directly.

If you have a future reservation which you would like to move or cancel, please contact us on reception@roydonmarinavillage.co.uk or 01279 792777 between 9am and 1pm.

For chandlery orders, please place your order via email to chandlery@roydonmarinavillage.co.uk. Once your order is processed and ready, we will contact you. We will take payment via the phone and advise you on a collection time. We will only provide deliveries to people who are vulnerable or self-isolating.

Where service provision is required, please adhere to the 2 metre social distancing guidelines at all times.

Showers, toilets and laundry facilities will be closed for cleaning daily from 7am to 9.30am and from 4.30pm to 7pm. You will not be able to enter the building during these times.

Visitors are not currently allowed on site in accordance with Government advice to avoid unnecessary travel and stay at home.

  • Has a high temperature or a new persistent cough - follow the Governments guidance on self-isolation.
  • Is a vulnerable person (by virtue of their age, underlying health condition, clinical condition or are pregnant).
  • Is living with someone in self-isolation or a vulnerable person.
