    Chandlery and Brokerage Assistant

    Roydon Marina Village is set next to a secluded 32-acre lake in the picturesque Lee Valley Regional Park and includes a marina, hotel and holiday lodges.

    We are looking for a customer-focused individual to support the day-to-day operations of the chandlery by assisting customers with queries and promoting chandlery sales. They will also be required to assist with boat brokerage enquiries and to support the Boat Sales Manager as required.

    Your new role:

    • Greeting and communicating with customers to assist them with purchases.
    • Dealing with customer enquiries both face to face and over the phone.
    • Presenting and stocking the shop to achieve the best impression and create an engaging and pleasant customer experience.
    • Assisting customers with chandlery enquiries and promoting the sale of stock.
    • Managing the sales and merchandising of goods.
    • Handling cash and EPOS equipment - taking payments through the till.
    • Replenishing stock within the chandlery.
    • Keeping the shop clean and tidy at all times.
    • Preparing and dispatching phone/internet orders.
    • Providing sales details to enquirers with regards to brokerage boats.
    • Lifting of heavy stock items as required.

    What you’ll need:

    • Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
    • Previous sales experience is essential.
    • Knowledge and interest in boats and boating would be beneficial.
    • Previous experience of working with the public.
    • Ability to use own initiative with daily tasks.
    • Pro-active with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
    • Good administration skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality at all times
    • Must have a flexible approach to working arrangements and an ability to align working hours with customer demand and workload.

    Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
    Working Hours: Friday, Saturday and Sunday (approximately 16 per week) but flexibility to cover other days is also required.
    Salary: Up to £9.60 per hour
